For our Finance department at our manufacturing site Ferring GmbH in Kiel (Germany), we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Director Finance (m/w/d) to lead the company on its growing journey. In this role, you will report to the Managing Director of the site and have a dotted line to the Director, Finance & Controlling TechOps. As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for a team of six people consisting of experienced controllers, managers and an assistant in accounting. You will also work closely with our outsourced partner for all accounting and transactional activities. The role requires to combine financial knowledge with strong business acumen and change management mindset. You will at least have 10 years of financial experience within a regulated industry with a good experience in product costing in a manufacturing site. Your mission within the local Leadership Team is to help the company achieve its current strategy and targets, provide efficient business partnering to the different functions, lead the on-going operational changes and support the improvement of processes and manufacturing productivity. Your Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis Lead all Financial Planning and Reporting processes including Strategic Plans, Budgets, Latest Estimates, and Month/Quarter Outlooks for operational costs as well as establish ROI analysis on business case analyses. Lead the preparation of financial planning and analyses related to annual operating plans and biannual 5-year Business Planning cycles. Drive, in conjunction with key SLT members, the productivity improvements at the site to ensure that the site becomes a competitive partner of choice within the Ferring Manufacturing Network Develop monthly reporting packages and Executive KPI/Performance dashboards focusing on key performance indicators to track financial performance vs. Budget. Ensure a reliable product costing. Lead and execute the site’s financial month-end and year-end closings (determining and analyzing manufacturing variances). Ensure financial results from operations are reported timely, accurately and in compliance with IFRS, internal guidelines and local regulations (HGB). Responsible for Ferring GmbH’s financial planning and analysis, taxation, and transfer pricing, calculating transfer price for items & providing tax cross charges calculations to verify that profit range is met. Stabilize and finalize the implementation of new financial systems and the outsourcing of accounting activities. Productivity improvement Drive, in conjunction with key SLT members, the productivity improvements at the site to ensure that the site becomes a competitive partner of choice within the Ferring Manufacturing Network Finance Business Partnering Act as an active business partner, providing management information to other departments, informing on any unexpected issues impacting the financial performance of the site and proposing / implementing corrective actions. Provide monthly financial reports to the site’s cost center managers and prepare, lead and execute the site’s forecast and budget exercises. Provide Strategic and Operational finance business partnering to the local Leadership Team and global TechOps functions, working closely with TechOps Controlling providing insightful financial analysis, decision support, and financial reporting. Identify and lead opportunities for business process improvements and participate in cross-functional team meetings. Decision Support Anticipate and evaluate evolving financial risks & opportunities that may impact the site and TechOps, track performance vs. plan, while remaining current on supply chain / demand trends, product inventory, and other relevant analyses/data. Responsible for leading the site Financial Planning and Analysis for capital expenditures and operational costs, enabling appropriate resource allocation and supporting ongoing strategy. Analyze and challenge financial assumptions underlying supply forecasts and expense planning to ensure transparency and accuracy of those assumptions across the business. Collaborate with Group TechOps Controlling to drive finance discussions with department heads across the organization and provide meaningful and timely financial advice. Functional Alignment Ensure that programs/projects that are undertaken are aligned to local site and TechOps strategies and adhere to overall business objectives including Procurement, ICS, Controlling, etc. Compliance Ensure a high level of compliance with Ferring standards e.g. IFRS, HGB Audit Compliance, SOPs, DoA, Learning Management Training, Organizational Change Initiatives, and relevant external and internal regulations and guidelines. Team Management: Motivate staff and ensure optimal training across the Finance organization. Select candidates for all financial positions. Define or propose remuneration. Translate business objectives into team's Finance objectives and manage performance. Develop the individual team members within the finance department Your Qualification 10+ years’ experience in Finance and good experience in a multinational environment within a manufacturing site (with strong experience/knowledge of product costing) Master by education or experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles and processes Ability to set long-term financial targets and to sponsor performance improvement projects Excellent financial analysis skills, advanced modeling and system with the ability to identify, present, and challenge key business assumptions. Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills combined with strong business acumen. Advanced computer skills with a high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, data warehousing and ERP systems such as Oracle (or similar). Experience and knowledge of SAP would be a significant advantage. Analytical mindset and self-starter, being able to see opportunities and solve problems independently. Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to develop long term relationships and gain trust and respect. Experience collaborating in a cross-functional team environment.
