Senior Backend Developer PHP (f/m/d)
What you will be doing
As a Senior PHP Developer specializing in Micro-Services and API, your role is pivotal in driving our organization's technological advancements and ensuring seamless integration across our systems. You will be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining PHP-based micro-services and APIs, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our software solutions.
- Lead development and maintenance micro-services using PHP and related technologies, adhering to best practices for code quality, documentation, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define service boundaries and ensure efficient communication between micro-services
- Design and implement RESTful APIs that enable seamless data exchange between different components of our software ecosystem
- Ensure APIs are well-documented and user-friendly for both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, assisting them in understanding micro-service and API architecture, coding standards, and best practices
- Foster a collaborative and innovative development culture within the team
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of micro-services and APIs, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies to ensure low latency and high availability
- Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Stay updated on security threats and vulnerabilities, proactively addressing potential risks
What this position requires?
- Minimum 5 years experience as a PHP developer with a strong focus on micro-services and API development
- Proficiency in PHP, RESTful API design, and related frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, or Lumen
- Strong knowledge of database systems, particularly MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with version control systems, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Very good Docker knowledge
- Analytical mindset to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Understanding of security best practices for micro-services and API development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to embrace new trends and technologies in PHP development
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and mentor junior developers
- Capability to foster a collaborative and innovative development culture within the team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and technologies
- Dedication to staying updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security threats
- You are fluent in English, German language skills are an advantage
